Beauty and the Beast was a show which aired on CBS from September 1987-August 1990. They were each 60 minute episodes.  It was about Catherine (Linda Hamilton) and the beast Vincent (Ron Perlman). It starts with Vincent saving Catherines life. They wind up with a love for ach other that is more than just beautiful.

I know when i was young, i used to be glued to the TV each week watching it. You had to love Vincent. 'The first time i loved forever' is probably one of my all time favorite songs. I even played it at my wedding. The soundtrack is almost impossible to find nowadays (its called 'Of love and hope'), but if you ever see it, grab it. Its loaded with beautiful music and poetry, spoken by Ron Perlman.
